no way

Old camera, meet new camera.

I lost this camera after being home for the family reunion in May. I was devastated because it was an awesome camera, not a cheap camera, only five months old, and it had all the pictures from Duck and my trip to CA. I searched everywhere for it. I searched the coat pocket that I last remembered seeing it in like 50 times. Then I started blogging and needed a digital camera, so I bought another camera (same model).

Today I cleaned out my car in preparation for girls camp. I extracted, among other things, three jackets. As I was putting them away I picked up my favorite light blue fleece jacket, which had been sitting in my trunk for months I though, I felt a familiar added weight to the fleece. I froze. "No way" I said out loud, No way was my camera in that jacket. I reached down to the pocket and felt the familiar shape and again repeated the sentiment "no way". I unzipped the pocket and sure enough, there was my camera. It was a mix of excitement that I had the pictures I though I had lost, disbelief that it had been in there the entire time, and frustration thinking of the money I had spent to replace it. Regardless, I am glad to have it back. And bonus: now if I loose the new one, I will have the old one to fall back on and vice versa.

ps, I will be at girls camp this week (mon-thurs) so no posts.
But I will have lots of great things to share when I get back.
