Tonight we went to the
National Harbor, a place that has just popped up in the last year or so. It is located on the MD side of the Potomac just south of the Wilson Bridge, and filled with fancy hotels and upscale restaurants.

Scott, Ashley, Ryan and I headed to the National harbor tonight to enjoy the Christmas festivities. The Gaylord National hotel hosted Christmas events (a gospel choir singing Christmas songs tonight), has indoor snowfalls daily and a cool water show set to music (like the Bellagio but smaller). We
loved the water show.

After the indoor shows we grabbed a bite to eat as we waited for our time to go see ICE! The Gaylord brought in 1.5 million pounds of ice and 40 international ice sculptors to create a winter wonderland. Kept at 9 degrees, they had us don parkas as we wandered through winter scenes of finely carved ice. Our favorite part was the ice slides. Yes, ICE SLIDES, as in you slid down ice chutes.
It was so fun. I wish I had pictures, but my battery started dying so I let Scott take over as photographer. They are trapped on his camera. :(
