whirly birds

Walked out to the deck today and everything was covered with a blanket of whirly birds. I scooped up a handful of them, threw them high in the air and watched them spin and float down to the ground below. Steph and Kerstin were over to BBQ (pizza again, we are trying to perfect the art. see below) and informed me that they were called helicopters. Potato, potato. For those of you not hearing the voice in my head that sounded like po-tA-to, po-tah-to.

It was fun throwing the whirly birds around. It reminded me of being a little kid. They were so simple yet so cool and mesmerizing to watch. It was a treasure when you found one.

This time we did Hawaiian pizzas. Delicious.
We might have to eat it once a week until we perfect it. It may take years.
