done

Today we did the practicals, I passed them all on the first try. Thank goodness. I was so stir crazy after going through nine hours of waiting and testing and waiting and testing, I don't think I could have handled more of it. So it is done. I am officially a Paramedic. I get the ugly gold patch and to fill in an 06 instead of 05 in the Firehouse patient care reports (see below). No raise at my department. But it does open me up to moving around the country (because Paramedic is recognized everywhere and Intermediate is only in some states) should I choose to someday.

So my plans now? Spend my time as I please. Exercise, prepare meals, hang out with my friends, go to the temple, volunteer more, take on more teaching hours. Basically, do whatever I want. It's going to be nice.

A large part of my motivation to go back to school again was being reminded every day while filling out reports at work that I was and 05 - EMT Intermediate when I could be an 06 - EMT Paramedic. It was a constant reminder that I was not living up to my full potential in this field. Stupid but true.
