halloween

To start out the day Kim, Ashley and I got dressed up as BOOritos to get some free grub from Chipotle. Yum. I would dress up as a burrito every day for free food. I am not ashamed.

It being the last day of the month, Ashley decided to make forgive-me-for-being-a-slacker cupcakes for her visiting teachees. The idea was again from the Hello Cupcake book. Ashley did the initial frosting and sprinkles and I did the piping of the details. They turned out super cute.

As the sun sunk lower into the sky, I was excited to hand out candy to the dressed up little ghouls and goblins. I soon discovered that the real Halloween trick was how greedy little kids dressed up and tricked me into thinking they were cute little kids. Does no one teach their kids manners anymore? Kids shoved their hands into the candy bowl pulling out 4-5 bags of candy at a time. (I had the good mix of M&M's and Reeses.) One kid plunged his hand in, took 5, and then while his friend was getting a few, went in for a second grab! Seriously. I put my foot down there and pulled away the bowl (I may or may not have sternly raised my voice at him. Oops). But I was so appalled!

Bowling Pin and Fat Tourist.

Our plans for the night were to grab dinner and then head out to go cosmic bowling (costumes mandatory). We met up with a bunch of friends at CPK and chatted the night away as we dined on their delicious salads and pizzas. After dinner Ashley and I tried to rally the troops to go bowling. But they were full of excuses. It was so late, they didn't want to put on costumes, they had to get home and wash their nails or paint their hair. So I yelled "Well go dress up as a stick and jump in the mud because that's what you are." No I did not. We eventually ended up back at Susan and Tasha's to watch a couple episodes of Criminal Mind's (Ashley's favorite show). I suppose it all worked out because that show is often-times creepy.

Ashley and I pulled on our recycled costumes, because it was Halloween after all, and enjoyed the slightly disturbing episodes. It was a good night.
Sidenote: How hilarious was it going to be with Ashley dressed up as a bowling pin while we were bowling. Ha!
Okay I'm back. Oh. And do you like my pumpkin? It's the white one. I am a sucker for white pumpkins. I decided to give out awards for our pumpkin carving this year. The grand prize for "least creative pumpkin" went to Ashley (hers is the orange one behind mine). I was first runner up. I was so disappointed; I never win anything.

HAPPY HALLOWEEN!

I LOVE your little things blog, because really those are the big things that make up our days and our memories...ok, enough sentimentality. You and Ashley are really cute-- we would have gone cosmic bowling with you!

Cam - here's the way to fool those rotten kids. Keep the bowl out of the kids reach, grab a handful of your candy and put it into his bag, dropping off just one, then quickly move to the next kid. It looks like you're very generous but you're not! LOL
