Station 9. Two Engines and a Medic Unit out front, the Quint (ladder
sticking up from roof in picture) and second Medic are in the back.
Today we had our Open House, an annual firehouse event for National Fire Prevention Week. All of the shifts here have spent the last two weeks literally on their hands and knees cleaning the firehouse and apparatus from top to bottom. It has been a huge pain, but the station looks great and the apparatus wheels have never been more shiny.

I got to hang out with these hilarious/adorable kids all afternoon. (Me bottom right)
For the open house we had all of the apparatus out for the people to look around and climb up in. Turnout gear was in the bay for kids to try on. The Quint was out back with its ladder raised and we had a small diameter fire hose that the kids could spray water out of. So pretty much I got to watch cute little kids climb around big shiny trucks all afternoon. They were in heaven.
Seriously, how great is my job (most of the time).
