Snowmageddon 2: Whiteout

We got a call at 0630 and by the time we cleared the hospital at 0730 the blizzard was in full swing. Instead of staying to do my report, I begged Joel to let me go home before the storm prevented me from doing so. When I left at 0800, it was yucky. This is the 495 freeway, visibility was half a mile at best.

Almost home, the roads were not too bad but the wind and snow was terrible. I drove slowly dreading the gusts of blinding white that would jump up and obscure everything more than 5 feet out. The last snowfall was fun, this one was scary.

Finally at home I checked the back deck report. I like to judge the snowfall based on how much it engulfs the patio furniture. This is from Sunday. This is from the December blizzard.

Yep, that's a lot of snow. I wanted to do a graceful bellyflop into it. But I didn't. Snow is cold. The rest of the day I stayed inside and slept (I only got 3 hours at work last night) and watched the DVR and cherished that I have a full 45 hours at home before going back to work again.
