When I got the green thumb I also decided to start some sunflowers from seed. My Dad grew huge sunflowers in our backyard last year and gave me an entire head full of seeds to bring back to VA and plant on my own. The little plants were doing well and sprouted up quickly (left), then two days later it looked like a bug had nibbled on them (middle). So I took my babies inside to protect them a couple days. Then I let them out again. Huge mistake! I came home from work the next day to find that a vermicious knid had dig into the pot and ate all my baby sprouts and the unsprouted seeds. Lame.
Today I planted round two. Wish them luck.

haha dork i looked up "vermicious knid " and its a mythological creature like an alien. Where did you even learn that term??
