NYC

October 2-4th

Incredible view from the Marriott Marquis hotel room!

This weekend Lauren, Dawn and Toni were in NYC to celebrate Dawn's birthday and invited me to join them. So I hopped a train (because I was too chicken to take the bus) and headed up for the weekend.

I made it there Saturday afternoon. Toni and I walked around Times Square and caught up and discovered (thanks to the power of the iPhone) a delicious pizza place called John's. Afterward we grabbed Lauren and Toni and headed to see a Broadway show.

Dawn had gotten us tickets to Jersey Boy's, it was a production about the Four Season's and I was surprised with how may of the songs I knew. Afterward we went to Carnegie Deli for sandwiches and some New York Cheesecake. On Toni's recommendation, three of us split a Pastrami on Rye. That thing was so large! The three of us could not finish it, we tried to but we had to leave room for the cheesecake. Yum!

The next day we got up and headed over to Battery Park to catch a ferry. When you see the Statue of Liberty from the park she looks really small and not that spectacular. But once we got to the island to see Lady Liberty, she was spectacular. After that we went to Ellis Island. It was really cool to see all the history there and the hope that America gave to all of the immigrants.

It was a fun little trip and so great to see my P-town peeps again, especially Sister Edmund's who I haven't seen in probably 10 years.
