Today to pay respect for the fallen, I decided to head to the 9/11 ceremony in Alexandria. There was a really small turn out, which was sad. I hope that next year (10th anniversary) there is more respect paid.
After that I went and volunteered with Chip and Mike. I figured there was no better way to celebrate the day than to be at one of the departments that responded to the Pentagon attack. I listened to the guys recount the events of that day and those following the attack. (The above picture is of Chip taking a patient out at the Pentagon.) I wish I could have been there to help.
I am proud to be part of a profession of brothers and
sisters willing to risk it all to save the lives of others.
I will never forget.
