It's like a tsunami of crushed Nutter Butters, Marshmallows and chocolate peanut butter coming at you.
To celebrate Valentines Day I decided to head to the kitchen and bake a tasty treat for the boys. I am working this V-Day. I browsed blogs and internally battled myself, trying to decide between a recipe I could tweak to be more healthy (as healthy as dessert involving chocolate can be) vs. a recipe that is delicious and full of fat. I finally decided that since it was a holiday I was going to make the good bad for you stuff.
I found a website that got my salivary glands working on overtime. The Chocolate Peanut Butter Gallery is dedicated to one of my favorite food combinations. If you like that combo too, you should not look at this website, it is dangerous. As I contemplated what to make I kept on going back to the Marshmallow Sludge Bars. The photo at the top was too much to resist. So I stopped resisting and gave in. While mine didn't look as blatantly desirable as hers, they still looked good. I mean check out my top picture, who can resist a wall of crushed nutter butters, marshmallows and peanut butter chocolate? Not this girl. Not firefighters. Maybe Tasha could.
I followed her recipe with everything except the Coca Krispies. I didn't feel like buying a whole box just to use two cups, so I omitted it. I think I may have let the top layer cook too long because it was a little thick, but it was still delicious. I topped it with some peanut butter for decoration. These are divine little devils. They are a great combination of flavors and textures. They are so easy to make and they sure pack a punch in the sugar department (see below). If you love marshmallows, chocolate and peanut butter, you need to try making these.

Forward to the next morning: I cut these up to take to work at 5am and started eating the "scraps" of bar for breakfast. I know. Healthy. As I was driving to work 10 minutes later my entire body suddenly went into sugar overload. It was sickening. I though I would go into a diabetic coma. So LEARN FROM MY MISTAKE PEOPLE and DO NOT eat these on a empty stomach. They are too sweet for that. Get a little something in you, then enjoy. Consider yourself warned.
