"You are turning the age we have all "been" turning for years." -Steph
I had a lovely birthday today. I left work in the morning, grabbing Chicken Minis (crack nuggets in tiny delicious little honey-butter brushed rolls) on the way home. Then I vegged on the couch, catching up on the DVR, as Ashley slaved away in the kitchen making cakes. I wanted to help, but she would not let me. Later Tasha came over to hang out and we all went to Chili's for dinner before the party.
Then we headed to the bowling alley where fifteen people converged in a battle of the bowlers. Well, not so much a battle, but I wish it was because I did great on the first game - 104!!!
Then back to my normal 74 on the second game. Oh well. It was really fun hanging out with all of my friends. It is times like this that I remember how lucky I am to have such an abundance of great people around me in the DC area.
I heart my DC family. Kim hearts DC. And being taller than everybody.
After bowling two gamed we headed home to chow down on the beautiful cakes that Ashley spent the day slaving away to make. My special request was the above Peanut Butter Cup cake.
A couple more people added to the group for cake at the house and Ashley was worried that one cake would not be enough. So she made two. The second was a lovely lemon cake. Two cakes! I am one lucky girl.
I blew out the rainbow flame candles and we converged on the confections. They were so great! We hung out and chatted for a while and enjoyed the night. It was a great birthday.
