So the problem with trying to get a LDS boy in this area to fix something, is that they don't actually know how to fix stuff. The last man enlisted for the task (my HTer) was a Lawyer who could tinker. Tinkering was good, but ultimately the Lawyer didn't have time to help me replace the faucet. I was going to do it by myself, but when I asked Joel (my new Lieutenant) if I needed plumbers tape (like my HTer kept saying I needed) he offered to come and do it for me.It was a good thing Joel came because it turned out that the valves were corroded too. Joel had to hack saw off the old valves, put on replace them and then put in the new faucet. I am now happy to admit that I did actually need a man's help. I would have had no idea how to do that. I wouldn't have thought to drain the water out of the lower bathroom faucets after turning the main water off. I wouldn't have known about the valves - I would have just let them spurt dirty water at me as I sat in a heap on the bathroom floor and cried about it. Joel saved the day.
