two tests down

So yesterday I took the dreaded National Registry Paramedic written (cognitive) exam. It was horrible. Even if I had studied the books three times as much as I did, I would not have been prepared for it. The questions were ridiculous. I was only sure of maybe 33% of the answers, the rest were just educated guesses. And some were not so educated guesses. It is an "adaptive" exam and you can have between 70-120 questions. The computer stops the exam when it is 95% sure you know you stuff, or when it is 95% sure you have no idea what you're talking about.

My test ended abruptly, 70-80 questions in. Since I was 66% sure I had no idea what I was talking about, I did not feel good about my chances of passing. But then again, no one walks out of that test feeling like they did well. I had either failed horribly or guessed magnificently. Only time would tell. Turns out I am one great guesser. I found out this morning that I passed. A huge pressure is off me. Now all that is left are the practicals on Saturday and I am 95% sure those will turn out fine. One to go...

That's awesome! I wish I was a good guesser like you! I'm sensing a celebration next week? A little Taco Pizza at Generous George's?
