pack rat pays off

Exhibit A (left) * Exhibit B (top right)

I knew being a pack rat was going to pay off one of these days. So the weather for the Avon Walk for Breast Cancer tomorrow is ominous. Rain and scattered showers with a chance of wet stuff falling out of the sky. I was a little down about the forecasted clouds when I saw the silver lining.

I quickly delved deep under my bed into the tupperware boxes of ultra important "stuff" that I have needed to keep around. Three tupperware full of stuff that I haven't looked at in a year or two. Still, I am sure it will come in handy someday, so I keep it. Today someday arrived.

Exhibit A: This is a mint condition bright yellow Mickey Mouse poncho from New Years Eve 2000. My family and I went to Disney Land for the turn of the century. It rained a little, but it was a blast. I kept the poncho in comemeration of the event, and because I knew it would come in handy some day. I was so right.

Exhibit B: An ultra ingenious umbrella hat circa 1997. I went to Utah to visit Clara after she had moved from P-town. It happened to be over the 24th of July and she signed me up to do a 10k with her, her Mom and Amy. Only problem was I don't run. I hung with the girls for a short while, but let them go ahead because I don't run and I was holding them back. As I walked the course I happened upon a vendor selling this fantastic invention and had to have one. So jumped off the race route and bought it. When I hopped back on I met up with an old lady who was just my speed and finished up with her. It was a fun time. Good memories.

I need to go to bed now. Have to get up in four hours. Just wanted to leave you with these great finds to tide you over till I get back. :)

I put the umbrella hat on Super Teddy to demo. Yeah, he is still around.
I knew you would like the guest appearance.

Before I even read about the hat I was reminiscing about that 10k... oh the fun times we have had together. Amy also had some questionable pickles and Brian and I just started laughing, Sorry about that one again! You are the best.
