Ashley and her masterpiece.
Ashley kicked me out of the house Saturday before the party so she could make her creation. I am not going to lie, after the alligator, covered wagon and apple cakes, I had no idea what to expect. I got home that afternoon and walked towards the living room when a large dish sitting on the kitchen table caught the corner of my eye. It appeared to be a gianormous platter of spaghetti, but there was something not quite right about it. I burst out in uncontrollable laughter. It was a cake!
It was the most hilarious cake ever. The "noodles" were colored frosting piped on over the cake (cake baked in one square and one round pan, the round pan cut in half and added to each side of the square one to fit the platter). The "meatballs" were Ferrero Roche balls and the "sauce" was strawberry jam, which was a delightful flavor combination with the buttercream and white cake. We had a few friends over for dinner and Ashley made my favorite spread: Beef Pepperoncini sandwitches, Lauren's salad, and 'Nanna Pudding. It was a fun night with good friends.
