Today in an EMS QA meeting the Deputy Chief actually acknowledged in front of my peers what a task I had taken on with starting the BLS (Basic Life Support aka: EMT-Basic) Continuing Education Program (so we can do the re-certifications in-house and not outsource it) and noted that I did it without any compensation of rank or pay. It was nice to be recognized.
But wait. I know it is a large project, would other departments have compensated me in rank or pay? I did save the department money... and I am running a large program... wait, can I have a rank? Please?
