If this is what 30 looks like, I'm in.

I got to hang out with Tamarin for her birthday this year. We (Tamarin, Me, Shawn and crew) opted for a day of fun at Great America - where a kid can be a kid, er, um, something like that.

It was fantastic! There was barely anyone there and the longest we had to wait in line was maybe ten minutes.
Ten minutes! We had gone through the entire park in two hours. So we hit our favorite ones again and then headed out.

Next we went to her parents house for a birthday barbecue. Aunt Gail made menus and had the fixin's for four different kinds of sliders.

There was fresh corn on the cob, homemade french fries, garlic fries, and all sorts of delicious stuff. Sliders were topped with grilled pineapple, peppers, caramelized onions, avocado, an assortment of cheeses - you name it, it was there.

It was fun to see most of Tamarin's family there. Annie and Nate brought the adorable Ella. Shawn was a became a fry master. Ashlynn created a lovely menu to guide people through the burger-palooza. It was great to see Uncle Wayne and Aunt Gail was, as always, a great hostess and so fun to be around.

Annie made this gorgeous cake for Tamarin's birthday. It was chocolate cake with chocolate buttercream (with fresh raspberries mixed in) and chocolate ganache. Can I tell you how pretty it was? I had cake envy. As I do with all of Annie's creations.

Happy [just another day of the week] Tamarin.
I love you.
